A studio charges ₹100–300 for passport photos and takes an hour of your day. With a phone camera and two free browser tools, you can make a fully compliant passport, visa or PAN photo at home in five minutes — and it never leaves your device.
Step 1 — Take the right photo
- Stand facing the camera, 1–1.5 m away, at eye level — no selfie-arm angles.
- Plain, light background (a wall works; shadows can be fixed in Step 2).
- Neutral expression, both eyes open, ears visible where required, no glasses glare.
- Even lighting from the front — avoid windows behind you.
Step 2 — Get the plain white background
